Energy Mark

Energy rating prediction

See where the energy rating is heading.

Energy Mark reads the first part of a product energy test and predicts where the final rating will land, with a range. The full regulatory test still runs to the end and still certifies the result.

Energy Mark is a predictor. It does not certify, label or replace the regulatory energy test required by your standard.

The wait

The answer forms early. Nobody sees it until the end.

Energy tests log readings every few seconds for hours, sometimes days. Those readings settle into a pattern long before the clock stops, but the lab only looks at the final number.

Hours to weeks

for one energy test, from a refrigerator's stable run to a battery's charge cycles.

Seconds

between logged readings of power, temperature, voltage and ambient conditions.

One number

is what the lab acts on, and only once the run is over.

If a unit is heading outside its intended band, engineering learns that at the end of the run. If a test ran in the wrong conditions, the run is lost before anyone checks. It happens in refrigerator and AC labs, transformer heat runs, motor temperature-rise tests and lamp lumen maintenance tests, in every market.

How it works

Read the run. Predict with a range. Say so when it can't.

01

Read the run

Energy Mark takes the readings your existing data logger already records: power, temperatures, flows, voltage, ambient. It finds the test phases and tracks how the product settles.

02

Predict with a range

A model trained on your own completed tests predicts the final energy result, with a range. Your standard's own formula then shows which band or class that range falls in.

03

Give an early read

The engineer sees one of four reads while the test is still running. The test carries on to the end. The certified result always comes from the full run.

Read the technical detail

The four reads

Every read is a prediction, and says what to do next.

The black outline marks the band the product is meant to achieve. The bar is the predicted range.

Target match

Predicted Target match
12345

The whole predicted range sits inside the band the product is designed for, clear of the boundaries.

Next: Plan the next test with more confidence. The full test continues and certifies.

Outside target

Predicted Outside target
12345

The whole predicted range sits outside the intended band.

Next: Engineering can start looking at this unit now. The full test still runs.

Continue testing

Predicted Continue testing
12345

The range is too wide, or it crosses a band boundary. Calling it early would be a guess.

Next: No early read. Wait for the full test.

Engineer review

Predicted Engineer review
No prediction
12345

The data has a quality problem, the test conditions are outside the standard, or the model has not been validated for this product.

Next: No prediction is made. An engineer checks the session.

Categories

Every product that carries an energy label.

61 product categories across India, the European Union, the United States and Australia and New Zealand, grouped by how their energy test behaves.

When it waits

It knows when not to predict.

A prediction outside what the model has seen is a guess. Energy Mark holds back, and tells the engineer why.

A model it has not been validated on

A new design, a new component or a new revision gets Engineer review until it has its own validated history.

Data that cannot be trusted

Missing channels, sensor error values, timestamp gaps or voltage drift stop the prediction before it starts.

Test conditions outside the standard

If ambient conditions or supply sit outside your standard's test conditions, the session is flagged, not predicted.

A range that crosses a band boundary

If the predicted range spans two bands, the read is Continue testing. The full test decides.

Predictor, not certifier

Clear about what it is, and what it is not.

Energy Mark is

  • An early prediction of the final energy result, always shown with a range.
  • A way for engineering to start investigating units that look off target, sooner.
  • A live check on data quality and test conditions while the run is in progress.
  • An auditable record of every prediction, compared with the final certified result.

Energy Mark is not

  • A certified energy rating, or a basis for an energy label.
  • A replacement for, or shortcut around, the regulatory energy test.
  • A substitute for your lab's sign-off or your compliance team's judgement.
  • A general model. It learns from your own products and tests.

Works with your standard

Your standard's formula, applied exactly.

The model predicts the energy result. The band or class always comes from your standard's own published formula. No model guesses the band.

Productised service

Productised, so it moves fast. Built in, so it is yours.

The method, the screens and the data pipeline are reused on every engagement, so work starts from a proven base. Then it is built into your environment and handed over. Not a platform you rent.

Proven method

The same ten-stage method every time, adapted to your products and standard.

Fixed scope and price

Written acceptance criteria and one price, agreed before work starts. No usage fees or seat licences.

Full IP handover

Code, models, rating rules and documentation transfer to you.

No retainer

Your team runs it. We return only if you ask us to.

Questions

What labs ask first.

Does Energy Mark replace the regulatory energy test?

No. Every unit still completes the full test your standard requires. Energy Mark predicts early. The certified result comes only from the full test.

Can a prediction be used for an energy label?

No. Labels and declarations must come from certified test results under your standard. Energy Mark predictions are for engineering and planning only.

Then what do labs use the prediction for?

To see early which units look like they are heading outside their intended band, so engineering can start investigating sooner. To catch data and test-condition problems while a run is still in progress. And to plan lab time with a better view of what is coming.

Which product categories does it cover?

Energy Mark is designed for every labelled product category with a measured energy test: refrigeration, air conditioning, water heating, laundry, cooking, lighting, electronics, motors, pumps, fans, compressors, transformers, solar, storage and tyres.

How accurate is it?

We do not quote a universal figure, because accuracy depends on your products and your data. It is measured on whole units the model has never seen, against their certified results, and reported to you. The figure we watch most is how often it predicted on target when the full test disagreed.

What happens when it is not sure?

It says so. A wide range, or one that crosses a band boundary, gives Continue testing. Poor data, conditions outside the standard, or an unvalidated product give Engineer review, with no prediction.

Is this a software platform?

No. It is a productised service, built into your own environment on your own data. Fixed scope, fixed price, full IP handover, no licence and no retainer.

How quickly can it be delivered?

Faster than a custom build. The method, the screens and the data pipeline are reused on every engagement, so work starts from a proven base and is adapted to your products, data and standard.

What does it need from our lab?

Exports from the data logger you already use, past completed tests with their final results, and basic details for each model. No new hardware by default.
