Lighting
LED lamps, fluorescent lamps, ballasts and other light sources. How their energy test behaves, what Energy Mark reads early, and where each product is regulated.
The test
What the energy test looks like
Lamps are measured once light output and power stabilise. Lumen maintenance tests then run for thousands of hours to show how output falls over life.
The early read
What Energy Mark reads
- Warm-up and stabilisation of light output and power
- Early lumen depreciation
- Lamp or driver temperature
- Supply voltage
It predicts: Efficacy at stabilisation and the lumen maintenance trend, with a range. The certified result still comes from the full test.
